Jeffrey Barth is a CPA with more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance, including time at Ernst & Young and several Fortune 100 companies. He founded Park City Tax Pro to apply that experience directly to nonprofits, businesses, and families in Park City and Summit County, with a particular focus on nonprofit and private foundation financial planning.

Background

Background

Jeffrey holds an MBA from the University of South. He began his career in public accounting at Ernst & Young, where his work included preparing and reviewing financial statements for corporate audit clients, building account reconciliations and supporting schedules, and reporting findings to engagement managers and client controllers under audit deadlines.

Corporate Career

Fortune 100 Experience

Over more than 30 years in corporate finance, Jeffrey worked across several Fortune 100 companies, building multi-year financial models used for board and executive planning, coordinating forecasts across multiple business units and entities, and maintaining the monthly and quarterly reporting cadence that large organizations rely on to track performance against budget. That work required financial models that could be checked, updated, and defended to auditors and executives — the same standard he applies to a nonprofit budget or a business forecast today.

The Shift

Why Nonprofit and Foundation Work

Large companies typically have financial planning infrastructure built in: forecasting, internal controls, board reporting. Nonprofits and private foundations, doing work that matters just as much, often operate without that same infrastructure — not from lack of will, but because it usually isn’t built or budgeted for at nonprofit scale. Jeffrey’s focus is bringing that same planning discipline to organizations that don’t otherwise have access to it, adapted to fit a nonprofit’s staff size and funding constraints rather than imposed at corporate scale. That focus is described in more detail on the Nonprofit & Foundation Advisory page.

Park City

Park City

Jeffrey’s connection to Park City goes back to 1994. He spent more than twenty years visiting before relocating full-time, bringing his youngest children to grow up in the community he had already come to know well.

Approach

Approach

Whether the engagement is a tax resolution case, a foundation’s multi-year budget, or a family’s estate plan, the method is the same: a documented process that can be reviewed, repeated, and checked — not a one-time fix applied under pressure. Individuals and families interested in wealth and estate coordination can find more detail on the Wealth Management & Estate Planning page.
